Day 1 • Lefkada Town, lagoon and a town evening
Start with the bridge threshold, the lagoon edge, the town streets and Santa Maura, then keep dinner or drinks in town where stops such as NISSI, Taratsa OPEN or a later Capital night fit naturally.
Lefkada rewards cleaner geography more than a long checklist. A short stay works best when town, east, south and west are not forced into the same rushed pattern.
Start with the bridge threshold, the lagoon edge, the town streets and Santa Maura, then keep dinner or drinks in town where stops such as NISSI, Taratsa OPEN or a later Capital night fit naturally.
Give the west one full day and build it around one clear rhythm such as Kathisma plus a broader scenic route, with Exanthia and Rachi making sense only if the evening stays on that side.
Use Nikiana and Nidri when you want harbour movement, ferries toward Meganisi and east-coast food stops such as Pantazis, or choose Vasiliki when you want the southern bay and a different coastal mood.
Keep town for one half-day and then commit the rest of the trip to one strong side of the island instead of zig-zagging everywhere.
Lefkada feels better when each day respects the island's curves, elevation changes and coast-to-coast transitions.
This itinerary is built on stable geography, named place structure and the way Lefkada's bridge access, lagoon town and coastlines divide the trip naturally.
Traffic, sea conditions, departures and seasonal operations can change, so adjust the sequence if conditions require it.
Lefkada gets lighter fast when every day follows one side of the island instead of fighting the whole map at once.
